About the movie

On the eve of the First World War, the young Franz Kafka tries to reconcile his passion for literature with his daily responsibilities. Gifted at blending realism and fantasy, and with a taste for razor-sharp critiques of bureaucracy and human nature, Kafka lives in a world hemmed in by his struggle with tuberculosis. He steers a course between his father’s expectations, his job, intense relationships and his endless drive to write.
