Cycling Workshop for Internationals

ABOUT THE EVENT

Cycling is an essential part of life in the Netherlands, and one of the easiest ways to get around Breda. For many internationals, however, cycling here can feel quite different from what they are used to.

This Cycling Workshop is designed for international students, expats, and families who already have some basic cycling ability and want to feel more confident and safe on the road.

The workshop will be facilitated by Wijs op Wielen, a cycling organisation whose mission is to support people of all ages and backgrounds in cycling safely and confidently. Their experienced instructors provide a safe and supportive environment, focusing on independence, inclusion, and building confidence.

This workshop is organised in collaboration with Fiets en Verkeersveiligheid Gemeente Breda, and Breda Internationals.

The 3-hour workshop combines theory and practice, including:

  • Dutch cycling culture and history
  • Rules of the road and right of way laws
  • Safe habits and behaviours
  • Getting to know your bike

Bikes and helmets are provided. The session is suitable for adults and children aged 5 and above.
