International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women’s equality. IWD Breda was celebrated first 2021 and second in 2022 with inspiring speakers. Choose to make an impact and embrace equity, with large or small outcomes. Change is progress, either way.

The program of IWD’23 curates a ‘highly ranked’ speaker and provides an opportunity to network during the International Women’s Day in Breda. It isn’t just a day to empower women themselves, but a day to join forces for a more impactful reality towards equity for all.

Equity is not just a nice-to-have, it is a must-have #EmbraceEquity.

• Lieutenant General Elanor Boekholt-O’Sullivan

With Lt. Gen. Elanor Boekholt-O’Sullivan (1976), the Ministry of Defence has a female “three-star general” for the first time. Only the Air Force does not use stars, but bands. On May 25, 2022, Boekholt-O’Sullivan was promoted. As of June 1, 2022, she is Deputy Director General Policy (Royal Air Force) in The Hague.
